Since being awarded the Network Rail CP5 National Substations Supply Framework contract in 2015, as part of the Sub Station Alliance (SSA), EPS has been working tirelessly towards implementation of the contract - which is part of the wider Northern Powerhouse Scheme.

Once again leading politicians descended upon Innovation House, the EPS factory, here in Loughborough. Focusing on the growth of EPS and its contribution to the local and national economy, there was also an opportunity for the Chancellor and the Secretary of State for Education, Nicky Morgan MP, to meet our apprentice, James, and see how EPS is creating opportunities for young people like him.
We're pleased to provide a video covering the highlights of the recent visit to the EPS factory by the Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP and MP for Loughborough, the Rt Hon Nicky Morgan. The event was in acknowledgement of our partnership with Electren UK Ltd and The Giffen Group Ltd to form SSA (Switchgear Substation Alliance) and provide turnkey solutions to Electric Railway Companies such as Network Rail for the provision of substations across the national rail network.
EPS Ltd have joined a venture partnership with the Giffen Group and Electren UK Ltd to form SSA (Switchgear Substation Alliance) UK Ltd. SSA will supply substations for the electrification of the UK rail network and EPS Ltd will manufacture, assemble and test the substation here in Loughborough.
The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP, accompanied the MP for Loughborough, the Rt Hon Nicky Morgan MP, for a tour of our factory and were shown how the substations will be constructed. EPS hopes to take on another 25 staff to fulfil the deal which could be worth more than £15 million to it over five years. The Loughborough business is part of a consortium called SSA (Switchgear Substation Alliance) which has won a Network Rail contract worth up to £50 million. EPS will design, test and manufacture trackside substations for routes up and down the country.
